The Real Estate Law was enacted in 1946 and was based on the British legal system, while with the accession of Cyprus to the EU, the Real Estate Law of Cyprus, real estate laws and regulations were harmonized according to the laws and regulations of the European Union. It is considered the cornerstone of real estate in Cyprus and deals with all matters related to the ownership, registration, disposal and valuation of real estate within the cadastral system of Cyprus, in which real estate is defined, recognized and valued.
